PLEASE PASS THE SALT

Happy Friday, Halloweenies!

Hope you all have a frightful weekend planned. The Queen will be in the kitchen cooking up some creepy chili for The Count (at his request) and I see a Munsters Marathon in my future. Nothing better than some hot chili on a cool day, and snuggled up watching The Munsters, am I right?

Unless of course it's shopping....

Check out these little salt and pepper cuties! Wouldn't they look great sitting on your dining room table, or resting on the stove, as you're cooking? Guaranteed to make you smile!

I found them on the spitfireinteriors.com website (which has tons of super cool stuff, by the way....) and they're only $14.99 for each set. You can choose from Frankie and his Bride, Mr. and Mrs. Dracula, and the Skeleton couple.

What a spooky way to spice up dinner time!

HAVE A SEAT

Now that the Halloween has come and gone, this is usually the time that I think about redecorating a bit, around The Manor.

This also is a great time to look for deals on the www, since holiday shopping is right around the corner. And I for one, think this would be a lovely addition to our cozy, little home.

It's a Vintage Perpetual Fabric Arm Chair, from wayfair.com and I love it! It's priced at $4,842.99 but you may want to put this splurge-worthy little beauty on your Christmas list.... just in case!

I think it's just divine, and I'd kill to curl up in it, with a cup of hot tea and a good murder mystery.... wouldn't you?

•Black varnished super glossy structure
•Black / charcoal damask covering in velvet
•Chrome glossy studs
•Suitable for lobby, hospitality, dining room

Dimensions:

GUILTY!

Yes, The Queen is guilty!

Guilty of not posting for the last few days. Not only was I quite worn out from all of the Halloween festivities around The Manor.... but I had to report Monday, Tuesday, and this morning, for jury duty!

Well, it was an interesting experience, but I for one, am glad it's over.

Now on to more Halloween-like things.... Are you ready to for a killer breakfast? Make eggs dangerously cool with this Funny Side Up Skull Egg Shaper! This handy frame shapes and molds two eggs into attractive egg art.

Just place the mold in your frying pan, crack two eggs into the rings and soon you’ll have a breakfast buddy to hang out with! Just remove the frame by picking up on the handle- it’s nose! And don’t forget to complete the look with some bacon “cross bones”!

It's from those wicked folks at vampirefreaks.com, retails on sale for $9.99, and I love it! Looks like it's another day of online shopping for the Queen!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Well, we made it! Our favorite day of the year has finally arrived!

I know you've still got lots of things to do, costumes to finish, treats and tricks to prepare for the big scare..... but make the most of it and HAVE FUN!

Having Halloween on a Friday is fab-boo-lous because we can party all weekend long! Trick or treating tonight, the annual Halloween bash tomorrow, and wrap things up on Sunday night with a Spooktacular dinner party. After kids have collected all their treats and a few games of "Pin The Tail On The Dragon", then it's time to break out the flashlights, for a few rounds of "Ghosts In The Graveyard" !

Have a frightful Halloween weekend, be safe, and enjoy every minute of it! Thank you to all my Halloweenies for hanging out with me, here in our little corner of the web.... it's been a spooktacular year!

Now, I still have some cobwebs to hang, lady fingers to bake, and my witches brew is already simmering in the cauldron, so it's another busy day here at The Manor.

And don't forget.... after today, we'll need to start planning for next year!

DOING THE HAPPY DANCE!

Well Halloweenies.... this is it! Tomorrow is Halloween, and it's gonna be here whether we're ready or not. So just enjoy, take a minute to look around at everything you've done, and give yourself a pat on the back.

It doesn't matter if you didn't hang ghosts from all the trees, or bake those spiderweb cookies, or you forgot to make your Lily Munster dress.... just enjoy what you've done! Great job!

But, if you're still in need of that last minute crafty costume idea.... think bats!

Oh, how cute is this???? I loooooooove it! I came across this little gem while surfing the web, and I gotta tell you, there are so many talented crafters out there!

I couldn't find the instructions....but I would say from all my years of crafting experience, all you'll need is some black floral wire, black foam sheets (or black adhesive paper) scissors, maybe a glue stick or hot glue gun.... and a plain black headband.

From the picture, it looks pretty simple. If I had to guess, I'd say.... make a bat template, trace it, cut it out, attach the bats (by hot glue or glue stick) to the wire, (cut at different lengths, and be sure to add a few extra inches at the bottom for twisting around the actual headband) Use the photo as a reference how far apart to set them, and I say add as many bats as you like.... until you get the desired look that you're going for!

Pretty simple. And the best part.... it doesn't have to look exactly like the picture. If it's not perfect, you're the only one who knows.

Just throw on some black leggings with a black sparkly top, and I think you'll look cute.... and crafty!

SIMPLY SPOOKY

Ok, so if you're making yourself crazy, and think that you have to go all out for this Halloween party with exotic food and table-scapes. Well, I have to tell you.... you couldn't be more wrong. Here's a good example of easy and fabulous!

If you don't have time to plan a large menu, just do drinks and a dessert table, instead. (and if you're really pressed for time, you can even buy the goodies already made.... then just decorate them yourself!)

Add a few spooky props, sparkly dishes, some candles and some spiderwebs. Dim the lights and wait for the guests to arrive!

Simply Spooktacular!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELSA LANCHESTER!

I know that we are in full swing of Halloween preparations, but I just had to take a moment and say Happy Birthday to my all time favorite style icon, Elsa Lanchester AKA The Bride of Frankenstein.

The Bride's style is so classy with those gorgeous eyes, beauty scars, and that iconic hair do! How can you not love her? She's my favorite, so I thought it would be fitting today, to feature some pretty awesome make up, so you too, can look just as boo-tiful as Frankie's main ghoul.

Now you can go simple.... with something as easy as some white make up, black eye shadow and black eyeliner pencils.

Or if you don't want to do a full-face make up, just add this lovely shade of green eyeshadow and a few scars from your eyeliner pencil, to your regular make up.

Now for that hair..... you can do a wig, or just take what you've got, tease it, pile it high, and pin it on top of your head. Spray a few temporary streaks of black and white, and you're good to go.

We've covered hair and make up, now the outfit. A long, white dress, and a few ace bandages to cover your arms, and the look is complete.

Trust me, you'll look stunning. And we owe it all to my favorite classic movie star of all time!!

Happy Birthday Elsa!
